Southern California Pomeranian Rescue
About Pomeranians
Available for adoption
These Pomeranians have been rescued from kill shelters and relinquishment situations and are currently residing in foster homes. If you are considering becoming a Pommie Parent please remember to read up about the breed, review the expense that comes along with adopting a pet and caring for it yearly, and think about how your lifestyle may affect your prospective Pommie child. Remember adopting a pet is FOREVER, and if you are not sure if you can commit to loving and caring for a Pommie for the rest of it's life, maybe you should consider fostering first. All of our Pommies are pre-screened for behavioral, temperament, and health conditions prior to placement in a forever home.  Adoption donations are between $100 and $350.

Once I was a Lonely Dog

Once I was a lonely dog,
Just looking for a home.
I had no place to go,
No one to call my own.
I wandered up and down the streets,
in rain in heat and snow.
I ate what ever I could find,
I was always on the go.
My skin would itch, my feet were sore,
My body ached with pain.
And no one stopped to give a pat
Or to gently say my name.
I never saw a loving glance,
I was always on the run.
For people thought that hurting me
was really lots of fun.
And then one day I heard a voice
So gentle, kind and sweet,
And arms so soft reached down to me
And took me off my feet.
"No one again will hurt you"
Was whispered in my ear.
"You'll have a home to call your own
where you will know no fear."
"You will be dry, you will be warm,
you'll have enough to eat
And rest assured that when you sleep,
your dreams will all be sweet."
I was afraid I must admit,
I've lived so long in fear.
I can't remember when I let
A human come so near.
And as she tended to my wounds
And bathed and brushed my fur
She told me 'bout the rescue group
And what it meant to her.
She said, "We are a circle,
A line that never ends.
And in the center there is you
protected by new friends."
"And all around you are
the ones that check the pounds,
And those that share their home
after you've been found."
"And all the other folk
are searching near and far.
To find the perfect home for you,
where you can be a star."
She said, "There is a family,
that's waiting patiently,
and pretty soon we'll find them,
just you wait and see."
"And then they'll join our circle
they'll help to make it grow,
so there'll be room for more like you,
who have no place to go."
I waited very patiently,
The days they came and went.
Today's the day I thought,
my family will be sent.
Then just when I began to think
It wasn't meant to be,
there were people standing there
just gazing down at me.
I knew them in a heart beat,
I could tell they felt it too.
They said, "We have been waiting
for a special dog like you."
Now every night I say a prayer
to all the gods that be.
"Thank you for the life I live
and all you've given me.
But most of all protect the dogs
in the pound and on the street.
And send a Rescue Person
to lift them off their feet."

Bixie
Age approx 9 yrs young
Hi, I am just as sweet as they come.  Don't be fooled by my naked back, I am still full of life and love.  I love to get cuddles and do the Pom Pom dance.  I am fully house trained and sleep quietly in my bed at night.  I do have a thyroid condition and am overweight because of this.  My foster mom says that the medicine is very inexpensive if you keep buying it through the rescue.  She also spends lots of time dressing me up and giving me belly rubs.  I am sorry but I am very camera shy and so my foster mom is having trouble getting pictures of me.  If you think that I might make a great furever pet please contact my rescue.  LOVE and Kisses ! Onyx
Hi, I am the beautiful Onyx.  I am a 12yrs young black and white pommie girl.  I was saved from the animal shelter only hours before I was due to be euthanized!  The rescue lady says that I am perfectly healthy and will live years longer.  I am very quiet and prefer a life of luxury.  I enjoy a good brush and a calm night on the sofa.  I am a bit older so I would prefer a home where the children are all grown up instead of small and fast.  I am super sweet and would make a great senior or stress relief companion.  If you think that I might be a lovable addition to your family please call my rescue group.

My name is Critter and I am barely a year old.  I haven't really had much of a home or a chance to be with people but I can give you lots of love if you give me a chance to get to know you.  I love to dance and wave once I get to know you and will cuddle right up to you and give kisses too.  My favorite place is the back of the couch so I can watch you. I would do best in a quiet home without kids where I can have personal attention from my new lifelong buddy.  Please find room for me in YOUR home !! I love other small doggies too!!!

Poopsie

POOPSIE (or LAMBIE PIE as I call her) takes a while to warm up to new people.  In fact when she came to me from the Los Angeles area she was biting scared.  But now with a lot of care and patience she’s become a Little Lambie Pie!!!  At 9 pounds Lambie is a cuddly compact furry friend.  She is probably around 4 or 5 years old and was abandoned along with her daughter in a foreclosed property.  For 6 long months the realtor brought them food and water but otherwise the only company they had was each other.  Now her life can change for the better with an adoptive mom and or dad she can settle in and offer someone a lifetime of dedication and love.

If you can offer a home to Lambie please contact Linda Lewis at (fostered in Petaluma, CA):

Leia/Fluffy (pictured left)

"My name is Princess Leia, but you can call me “Leia.”  I came from a home where there were no people, and it was just me and my mom living there alone until we came to Northern California.  I didn’t understand what was going on and was very scared, but I’m getting used to it all.
I’m potty-trained and I LOVE to go outside for long walks to the park with my foster sister.  I’m going to miss her very much when I find my forever home, so you’ll have to have another small furry friend for me to bond with.  Big dogs and crowds of dogs are scary—I get very uncomfortable and duck under my foster mom’s legs.  I like to sleep in my bed and stay near my furry foster sister most of the time, but I get very excited when my foster parents come home from work.  I am starting to love people very much, but I am still scared.  I am hoping to someday go to a great family where there will be lots of love and encouragement so that I may learn how to do new things and not be so shy anymore.  Will you be the one to help me??"
Leia is about 2 – 3 years old, weighs 9 lbs. and is current on all her vaccinations and is microchipped!!!

I would make a great only doggie for an apartment.  I am a tiny rusty colored boy.  I live to cuddle and give puppy kisses  I am fairly quiet but prefer to be with my people rather than alone.  I love to watch TV and give kisses.  I am only 12 years young and have a long time to give lots of love to my new furever family.  I do need a little training but I am super smart and very food motivated.  If you think I might be a wonderful life furkid please call my rescue.  They did save me from being Killed at the shelter!

I am called Buddy because I want to be your best buddy.  I am about 8-10 years young and like to have my ears scratched and to be petted.  I like to wiggle around on my back on the sofa too!!!!  I am housetrained and bark to let you know I need to go outside or am hungry.  I am FULLY housetrained! I get along fine with other doggies and like really soft beds to sleep on during my many naps.  I'm easy to take care of as you can see my fur was all trimmed off when I got sprung from death row at the shelter so I could be all cleaned up pretty. I weigh about 8 ponds and have only 3 teeth left. It will take me a couple minutes to warm up but if you hand feed me I will be your best buddy furever!!!!! Please give me a chance to be your best buddy !

Shadow
I am a very attentive little man that loves to follow my foster mom everywhere.  I love people and animals of all kinds.  I actually play very well with little dogs.  I prefer to run around the house freely rather than be crated.  I am housetrained.  I know sit, stay, lay, and come.  I am great on a leash and in the car too!  If you think that I might be a good furever pet plese come to meet me right away!
Available to be seen in Rancho Cucamonga/Ontario  area by appointment.
ADOPTED

Men are from Mars, women are from Venus, and Mousey is out of this world cute! Happy, playful and polite, this 1-2 year/5 lb. boy has quickly adjusted to home life after bouncing around shelters so early in life. He needs and enjoys being held, spending time in the yard, and lounging in in a pet bed. Like any sophisticated individual, Mousey needs a low-cal diet. Otherwise, he is a healthy, happy boy. So let the countdown to a deserving home.
He is very quiet and calm. He is learning to interact with people, it looks like in his short period of lifetime, he had lack of love and care. But now he loves to follow me and kiss me whenever he can reach me....
He has a liver problem, but with the right food and medicine (which is not expensive), love and care, he will have a long happy life.
He is housetrained and sleeps all night long.. I work all day so he loves to lounge is his cozzy bed all day, but when I get home his  waggy tail is very active.
Please let me know if you have any question or if you will like to meet him, we can make the time, thanks for the inquiry.

IN DANGER NEEDS URGENT FOSTER!

Here is STAR.  She was DUMPED at the shelter by her owner with a broken leg.  It is splinted now but needs surgery right away.  The break is bad and old.  She is only 2 1/2 years old, and a 10 pound bundle of kisses !  Energetic in spite of the leg.  Star is housetrained and gets along well with other dogs.  Star loves car rides and gently playing with other pommies.
Adoption Pending Recovery.

BRIAN was confiscated from his owner due to animal abuse.  The terrible person that left scars on little Brian's body and blinded him in one eye is being prosecuted for anumal cruelty, but Brian has no emotional scars as a result of this inhumane treatment.  Brian is about 6 years old and has plenty of love to give, but since he wasn't loved in his former life, he doesn't have very good house manners and needs a little work in that department.  Brian may have to be made available for court proceedings in the future but the rescue organization will take care of that for you.  We will teach you how to use a diaper to keep Brian from marking inside while he learns house manners too so that he can go to a furever home andstart his life all over again as soon as possible.  Brian is one brave little boy that deserves second chance as soon as possible.

"I JUST ARRIVED, MY BIO IS COMING SOON"
Being fostered in Simi Valley

JAKE was rescued from the humane society on Christmas Eve when the shelter became so overcrowded that there was no more room for him there.  Jake is a very docile little guy around 10 years young.  Jake likes to lie around in his soft squishy bed and to go for leisurely walks.  He just adores people.  Jake will make a wonderful companion for someone wanting a less energetic friend, an apartment or condo.  Except for a little fur loss, Jake is healthy and ready for his new home.

Pepper is a tiny little 5 pound girl that is 10 years young but acts like a 5 year old.  She is quiet and potty pad trained.  Pepper loves being held and cuddled and will make a lovely lap doggie for someone. She also loves to chew on her bully sticks, yup she still has teeth !   Pepper doesn't have any apparent medical problems according to the vet so she has lots of life left to give to you.  They hardly come any sweeter than her.  It's hard to believe that her owner just DUMPED her at the animal shelter.  Please find room in your heart for this great little gal. She will bring you LOTS of happiness and joy.
Pepper is fostered in SIMI VALLEY

I am a very cool 5 year old lady that LOVES to cuddle, go for long walks and spend time with my people.  You will have to search far and wide to find a sweeter girl than me !  Somehow I got  stuck at the animal shelter but got supre luckyas was rescued on the very last day that I was to be allowed to live.  I am so grateful that I have a second chance.  My foster mom adores me and would keep me if she could but my foster brother got there first and the landlord only lets one permanent doggie live there.  I love my foster brother, he is a shepherd mix so I am OK with a little bigger dogs.  I am a little bigger too at 13 pounds.  I like car rides and I am a quiet girl too so I could live in an apartment or condo very easily.  I like little kids and grown ups just the same so any kind of family works for me.  If you can be my furever family please consider letting me love you !!!

Perro is a sweet little senior doggie looking for a calm quiet home he can cll his own at age 9.  Perro lived with an elderly couple and his mom passed away just before Christmas.   His dad was too ill to care for him and is now in a convalescent home where Perro can't stay with him so he needs to find a new mom or dad to love and take care of him.  Perro misses all the attention he used to get and would love another senior to call his mom or dad.  Perro gets along with other small dogs, loves lap time, walks on a leash just fine and is housetrained as long as he is taken out on a regular basis.  He has been around children and cats but doesn't much seem to notice the cats are there. Given the opportunity, Perro will give you many more years of cuddles, kisses and love. He likes to eat more than he should so he is on a diet right now.  It seems his beloved mom gave him a bit too much too eat.
Fostered in Chino Hills, CA

Peaches is a beautiful cream colored female that was abused by her previous owner.  She does not like men holding fists near her because the previous owner beat her with his fist.  She gets scared easily and does not like to be around large dogs, more than one other dog or children.  However, give her one day to get to know you and she will follow you everywhere.  She loves to be petted and will nudge your hand if you stop petting her.  She seeks a lot of attention.  She also loves car rides and will sit right next to you on the passengers sit and look out the window.  She is happiest and most excited when you return home from work/school:  she will jump around, wag her tail, and follow you everywhere.  She understands where she is allowed and where she is not if you take the time to let her know.  She also likes walking around the neighborhood with you and chases small animals like squirrels.  She is house-trained and understands a firm “no” and “stay.” She needs forever home that will give her lots of love and attention.
