Thinking About Fostering
Fostering:

This is a great alternative for families that cannot afford the adoption fee or who are unsure of how long they can care for a new pet. Fostering is typically a temporary thing, it entails that a person will care for the day-to-day needs of an animal. Our fosters are pre-screened to care for pomeranians before a pom is placed with them. This includes the processing of a fostering application and a home inspection. Under certain circumstances things can be expedited. These include dogs in Kill shelters needing fosters, special needs dogs, and hard to handle dogs. Dogs with special needs and hard to handle dogs will only be placed with experienced foster parents. If you are interested in fostering please see out list of pomeranians that are needing fosters on the corresponding page. You can see a list of dogs currently being fostered on the adoptable pomeranians page. Please contact us for more information, and if you are ready to foster, please fill out and submit the fostering application below.

Dear Prospective Foster Parent:

We are always in need of the generousity of foster homes.  Below is our fostering application.  This form gathers
information about you and your home environment.  this information is not used in anyway against you during the
fostering/adoption process.  We simply use this information to assist in helping find a suitable foster for your home
and living situation.  There is a dog currently waiting in your local shelter for some loving person to open
their doors and allow him a safe place to live while waiting for his furever home.

Fostering is a very simple process, during which you are able to recieve all the support funds as you need based
on approved reciepts.  This means your fosters food, bedding, leash, collar, and other needs are paid for by the
rescue when receipts are provided.  This is a great alternative for families that cannot afford the adoption fee or
who are unsure of how long they can care for a new pet. Fostering is typically a temporary thing, it entails that a
person will care for the day-to-day needs of an animal. Some dogs that come through the fostering system can end
up a long term commitment though.  These include dogs with special needs and hard to handle dogs who will only be
placed with experienced foster parents.  Medical needs dogs are addressed based on the severity of the case and if
home remedy has resolved the problem or not.  What we require of fosters is very simple; be avaialble with 48 hrs
notice to show the dog at appointment times arranged with the rescue, treat the foster dog as your pet, never allow
someone to adopt the dog without going through the rescue.  Local fosters are also usually requested to attend
adoption events.  We do provide 24/7 training support and care advice via email and text message.
Phone messages are usually responded to within 48 hrs.

Once we recieve your application we will contact you to arrange for a suitable foster to be removed from a shelter
for you to care for.  Thank you again for your generosity.

We are a non-profit organization. The adoption donation ($100-350) is used to partially recover the costs
involved in rescuing this dog. These costs include but are not limited to: Shelter fees, spay/neuter, food,
housing, vaccinations, de-worming, micro chip, and any vet exams or medical care that the dog may have required.
We would not have been able to save the life of the dog you are fostering without the adoption donation from another
that came before him/her.

adoption takes place, I understand that Pomeranian Rescue Group has the right to annul the fostering and reclaim the
